    National Volunteer Week: April 19-25, 2026
    Mark your calendars for National Volunteer Week, which will be observed from April 19–25. This annual event is a prime opportunity for USACE to celebrate the vital contributions of our volunteers and to recruit new talent to support our public lands and recreation projects. https://www.pointsoflight.org/national-volunteer-week/

    This week serves as a national platform to recognize the individuals who dedicate their time and skills to our mission. For USACE, it is a key moment to engage our communities and strengthen our volunteer base.

    How we can leverage National Volunteer Week:

    • Acknowledge Our Volunteers: Plan to show appreciation for our current volunteers. This can be as simple as a heartfelt thank-you, a social media post highlighting their work, or a small appreciation event.
    • Recruit New Talent: This is an excellent time to promote our volunteer needs. We can find passionate individuals by posting opportunities on official portals like Volunteer.gov.
    • Increase Visibility: Let's raise awareness of our volunteer program. Share stories and photos of our volunteers on social media using the hashtags #NVW, #VolunteerWeek, and #ThankYouVolunteers to connect with a wider audience.

    By actively participating in National Volunteer Week, we can celebrate the spirit of service that is crucial to the success of our projects and the stewardship of our natural resources.

    Throughout National Volunteer Week, we’ll be sharing daily Volunteer Spotlight cards featuring outstanding volunteers from across the country. You can view them here: https://corpslakes.erdc.dren.mil/employees/volunteer/ week.cfm and on USACE social media outlets.
