Call for Nominations - 2025 Excellence in Partnerships & National Volunteer of the Year Awards - Suspense 5 December 2025
On behalf of Mr. Stephen L. Hill, Director of Operations and Regulatory Programs, I am pleased to invite your nominations for two important USACE awards: the Excellence in Partnerships Award and the National Volunteer of the Year Award. These awards honor the exceptional contributions of partners and volunteers whose support and service significantly advance USACE’s Recreation and Environmental Stewardship programs. Award ceremonies will be held in 2026 at the recipients’ respective locations to recognize their dedication and outstanding achievements.

    Excellence in Partnerships Award
Established in 2001, this award is now in its 24th year of celebrating partners who have made substantial, long-term contributions to USACE programs. Recipients are selected based on their ability to:

  • Achieve key management objectives,
  • Enhance public awareness and education,
  • Foster collaboration with additional partners.
  • National Volunteer of the Year Award
Launched in 2014, this award honors individuals or family units who demonstrate extraordinary volunteer service. Nominees should exemplify stewardship, commitment, and a willingness to go above and beyond in support of USACE lands, facilities, and resources. Their contributions should have significantly enhanced one or more NRM business lines.

    Nomination Process
Nominations must be routed through each District to the appropriate MSC. MSC Recreation/Stewardship Business Line Managers will submit nomination packages (following the enclosed instructions) electronically to Mike McCoy, CELRH-ORK-N, no later than December 5, 2025. A selection committee will review submissions and provide recommendations for final selection.

    Informational Webinars
Two webinars will be offered to walk through the nomination process and answer any questions:

  • September 25, 1:00–2:00 PM (Eastern)
  • October 15, 1:00–2:00 PM (Eastern)
  • Webinar invitations will be distributed one week in advance.

For full award criteria, nomination instructions, and additional details, please visit the NRM Gateway: https://corpslakes .erdc.dren.mil/partners/awards.cfm

I strongly encourage you and your staff to recognize and nominate outstanding partners and volunteers. Their invaluable contributions continue to advance the mission of USACE’s Natural Resources Management program.

Thank you for your support and participation in this important recognition effort.

    Jeff
